London Highways

Painted by Claude Buckle in October 1934, this puzzle comes in a green book-shelf style box, very much akin to many more of the GWR puzzles.
Formed in 1860, control of the road haulage company, Carter Paterson was purchased in 1934 by Great Western Railways (GWR), London and North Eastern Railways (LNER), London Midland and Scottish Railways (LMS) and Southern Railways (SR), all gaining equal share.
In view of the above association, the puzzle has been generally accepted as belonging to the superb GWR series.
This same print also features on this non-promotional version elsewhere in the Chad Valley album.
