Conflagration of Moscow

One of the finest quality prints I have ever seen has been used here to great effect by Messrs. Walker & Holtzapffel, who have produced this magnificent jigsaw puzzle which is full of colour line-cutting and features a combination of semi-interlocking and push-fit pieces within an interlocking border.
The painting, which appears to be unsigned is remarkable and beautifully coloured showing the central figure of Napoleon Bonaparte looking back at Moscow as it burns. The cause/s of this 1812 fire are still disputed, but it destroyed an estimated three-quarters of the City.
