Defeat of the Pirates, The

c1915-1920 solid mahogany-backed wooden jigsaw puzzle, featuring a copy of one of John Hassall's Peter Pan series of six prints issued in around 1907.
The puzzle is cut in Holtzapffel's traditional semi-interlocking style with widespread colour line-cutting. The box label had been amended to reflect a different puzzle, but now houses its original contents once more, the previous owner having mixed several boxes and puzzles within their collection.
