Untitled-Dancing Couple
Everything about this outline-cut, solid mahogany-backed, 175 piece jigsaw puzzle points towards membership of Holtzapffel's highly acclaimed Figure=It=Out range, although the original box and labels are not present so its title is unknown.
The Pre 1922 Price List records four titles in this size category, all thought to relate to stage plays or films of the c1910-1920 era.
Colour line-cutting and the combined push-fit and semi-interlocking pieces, both appear to match the style and quality normally expected from one of the world's finest manufacturers.
The puzzle had sadly lost three of its original pieces, but I have very carefully remade these, and they are seen in the third image alongside.
