A further example from the non specific series of Japanese coloured prints which Holtzapffel issued as puzzles in their earlier years, the box for this particular puzzle being of post 1910 origins and carrying an identification number of 22. The colour line-cutting is rather more prevalent than that of the earlier examples, indeed the overall quality is somewhat superior, presumably a reflection of the company's efforts to improve their reputation in an ever more competitive marketplace.
