Fermière, La

Believed to be of c1915-1920 origin, this well cut non-interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle features a famous 1887 painting by the French artist Alfred Philippe Roll. Its full title is: Manda Lamétrie, fermière (Manda Lamétrie, Farm Girl) and it is now part of the collection of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
Manda Lamétrie owned a small farm at Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer on the Normandy coast and was just twenty years old when Roll painted her.
The puzzle includes fifty figural shaped pieces which include clover leaves, heart shapes, arrows, acorns and a hand cart.
