Awaiting the Hero

Showing all of the attributes of a Playtime Picture Puzzle, this puzzle carries the very little-known Latest Evening Craze branding, popular phraseology in the early 20th century c1908-1915. It seems almost certain to have been cut by the better known William Peacock & Sons, although this is not recorded on the box.
The print, which is unsigned, carries the copyright name of the New York publishing company Mcloughlin Bros, helping again to date this puzzle as pre-1920, when the company was sold to Milton Bradley.
