Shattered Hopes

Almost certainly an American puzzle, this beautifully cut plywood jigsaw features numerous whimsies, or figural shapes along with colour line-cutting.
The abundance of similar, star-shaped pieces makes me think this puzzle was probably not from one of the major manufacturers, but more likely by a very skilled amateur who used many of the techniques of Company's such as Parker Brothers for inspiration.
All together a wonderful use of this charismatic Hy. Hintermeister painting which also features in this Royal Puzzlemakers example of the same name.
Please also see Future Home Builders and The First Horseshoe, for two other puzzles almost certainly by this same, unidentified cutter.
This puzzle came with a 1936 desk-calendar sheet quoting All pieces here.
Special thanks to Yvette Ayres for so kindly forwarding pictures and information for us to share.
