Equestrian Portrait

Featuring very fine use of the colour line-cutting technique, this 600 piece semi-interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle is thought to be of late 1930's manufacture. The label inside the lid carries a hand written name of Miss E. Smith and a price of 2 shillings per piece, which seems to indicate that this was one of the earliest of Miss Smith's puzzles, with later examples of her work charging 2 shillings and 6 pence per piece and with a printed label.
The painting was begun by Sir Edwin Landseer and completed by Sir John Everett Millais
