Glorious 1st of June (Historical), The

Thought to be by the British maritime artist Charles Dixon (1872-1934). this superb painting depicts the engagement of the French and British naval fleets on the First of June 1794, an historical action also known as the Third Battle of Ushant.
33 whimsies, or figural shapes, plus the wavy, pie-crust edge and widespread colour line-cutting have all contributed towards an excellent quality and challenging puzzle which is believed to be from the 1930's era.
