Biscuits Lefèvre-Utile

An advertisement for a French biscuit manufacturer in the Art Nouveau style by the Czech-born artist Alphons(e) Mucha, dated 1897. He based his elaborate designs around beautiful contemporary women celebrities such as Sarah Bernhardt. This is one of a series of posters printed by F. Champenois of Paris when Mucha was under contract to them. A 1900 version of this advertisement is featured in a puzzle cut by Genest Desfosses.

The box base gives details of seven other contemporary puzzles of works by Mucha sold by D-Toys.
