McCall & Stephens Biscuits

Shaped jigsaw, but without dropouts. Medium piece sizes. There is a companion jigsaw in similar style produced for Maw’s White Rose Toothpaste. I think the prints came from the Museum of Packaging, then situated in Gloucester Docks. Assembled & shown at the 2017 House Party.

McCall & Stephen, Glasgow bakers and biscuit manufacturers, was established in 1854. The Adelphi Factory was a major employer in the Gorbals area and involved in both manufacturing and distribution. By 1891 they had English branches in London, Plymouth, Cardiff, Manchester and Birmingham.
