Cramped Ones to Creep, The

300-piece fully interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle, estimated to be of c1930s-1950s manufacture and featuring an artistic hunt study by the British artist George Denholm Armour (1864-1949). The puzzle comes housed in a blue bookshelf style box with ribbon ties and smaller scale black and white guide picture. This carries the fuller title of "The Cramped Ones to Creep and the Fair Ones to Fly", a line from the British novelist George J Whyte Melville's poem "The Galloping Squire". Another line from the poem is used as the title for this 175-piece puzzle from the same era, also painted by G.D. Armour.
