Sooty-Twin Puzzles

Very uncommon promotional wooden jigsaw puzzle set, believed to be of mid-late 1950s manufacture and featuring two small push-fit plywood puzzles. The two twelve piece puzzles are set within a tray style box-base, arranged to imitate a television set of the era, complete with wooden surround!

The puzzles were produced "by arrangement with Harry Corbett", who first created the lovable character in 1952, before its television launch in 1955. Harry Corbett went on to present the show until 1975, when his younger son Peter Corbett (stage name Matthew) bought him out, going on to present the show until 1992.
