Andania, R.M.S.

This magnificent painting by the British artist Walter Thomas (1894-1971), was evidently his inaugural poster to promote the Cunard Canadian Service in 1921.
Although in this example the title Andania is used, the ship featured is understood to be her sister ship R.M.S. Antonia, off Quebec as she sets off on her return journey to Britain. The painting has appeared in many other Chad Valley Cunard puzzles, including the very scarce 1924 Empire Exhibition card version Click Here, as well as in various other wooden examples, under varying titles. Also see the unusual Card Peacock version.
