Mauretania, R.M.S.

Built 1938-1939 by Cammell Laird of Birkenhead, the New Mauretania saw only the briefest of commercial work prior to WWII, returning to sail trans-Atlantic services between c1947-1962 and later working as a cruise liner.
This very scarce 70 piece plywood puzzle is one of only a very small number produced in the post war era, probably around 1950-1955.
See the R.M.S. Saxonia puzzle, believed to date from c1955, which features a similar font type in the Jig-Saw Puzzle wording.
