Stratford-Upon-Avon (Harvard House)

Produced during the years 1933-1938, this jigsaw is from a very colourful painting of the High Street by Michael Reilly, featuring the famous Harvard House, complete with U.S. Flag. This house was built in 1596 for Alderman Thomas Rogers and his wife Alice, whose daughter Katherine married Robert Harvard in 1605. Their son, the Rev. John Harvard, who graduated at Cambridge University, emigrated to New England in 1637, sadly dying only one year later. The renowned Harvard University of Cambridge Massachusetts, was named after him, following his bequest of books and money towards its construction.
All this came from a small leaflet issued with this super puzzle, which has also now been found in this Non-Promotional version.
