Good Catch (Seascape), A

Fine quality, semi-interlocking wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring widespread colour line-cutting. Whilst its original box is absent, the use of a solid wooden substrate points towards c1910-1920 origins. The title was written on a bag which came with the puzzle and is confirmed by an entry in one of the Company's catalogues.

The painting is by the American artist Winslow Horner (1836-1910), renowned for his primarily marine-themed studies.

Many thanks to Margot Stulemeijer for the details and images of this fine puzzle.

Margot has also provided an image showing the various stages gone through in the puzzle assembly/disassembly and this demonstrates the abundant use of colour line-cutting superbly well. Thank you.
