Large wooden jigsaw puzzle, cut by the very best of commercial British manufacturers, Holtzapffel and Co., Ltd. This example was included in the stock of the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library during the 1950s and 1960s. It is listed on Page 4 of this company price list, known to cover the period 1922-1930.
The cutting style is primarily non-interlocking in nature, but with semi-interlocking pieces scattered fairly evenly throughout. The border is generally fully interlocking and there is widespread colour line-cutting of the very highest standard.
