Waving Palms

A stunning puzzle featuring colourful artwork by the Dutch artist Pieter van der Hem, which originated as a promotional tourism poster for Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij-(KNSM), promoting their winter vacation cruises. The cutter has been very creative in his, or her interpretation of the print and this ranks as one of the most enjoyable and nicest puzzles I have ever encountered, not to mention how challenging it was without the benefit of a guide picture!
Of particular note is the way each section of sea in between the ship's rails has been cut so accurately from its surroundings and then in turn cut along so many of the wave crests and colour borders. Brilliant!
The box address of 79 Wigmore Street, helps to date the puzzle to 1931.
