c1930's interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle, from the General series of Delta Fine Cut puzzles. The painting is unsigned, but seems reminiscent of the work of American/Canadian artist Robert Atkinson Fox.
Interestingly the box base carries a price label from Harrods, with the original price of 10/6 reduced to 3/6, perhaps an indication that this style of artwork had not proven popular with the British market.
