Hunt Breakfast, The

Larger example of a c1930s "Delta" plywood jigsaw puzzle, featuring a painting by Albert Ludovici Jr. (1852-1932), an artist whose work appears widely in jigsaw puzzles of the era, perhaps most notably those of the Tuck's Zag-Zaw series of "Dickens Coaching" puzzles. A full show of those of his paintings featuring in puzzles displayed on the Jigasaurus can be found Here .

The puzzle features a fully interlocking cutting style and is housed in a silver foil-covered box with lift-off lid and no guide picture. The box side carries a retailer label for Kendal Milne & Co., a Manchester store which was acquired by Harrods Stores in 1919, themselves a regular retailer of wooden jigsaw puzzles.
