S.S. Leviathan

Like the Golf Course at East London puzzle and the similar format Asturias puzzle, this c1930's plywood puzzle comes in a tray-style box much larger than the puzzle itself, perhaps indicating a very limited run.
This superb liner, launched in 1913 as the S.S. Vaterland was seized by the Americans in 1917, before being renamed S.S. Leviathan. She was acquired by United States Lines in 1919 where, after a refit she became the Flagship of the fleet, sailing the Tran Atlantic routes from 1923-1933.
