Unidentified Library 1

The origins of the puzzle lending library are not known, but it is estimated to have been running in the post war years, c1950s-1960s. One of the most distinguishable features of the cloth bags in which the puzzles were housed, is a wooden numbered jigsaw piece-shaped tag sewn into the majority of them.
The majority of the puzzles seen appear to be of interlocking style, with artwork typical of the era.
Another interesting feature is the coloured frame surrounding many of the prints. It would seem that the prints were mounted on a slightly over-sized board, with the visible wood surface surrounding the artwork then being painted in bold colours such as blue or green.
