Lady with Parasol-Renoir

Very challenging 500-piece plywood jigsaw puzzle, cut in the predominantly non-interlocking style with abundant colour line-cutting. There is a change of style within the upper right quadrant where the cutter has featured seven hand-shaped pieces to form partial interlocks, highly effective within this otherwise dark and rather uninteresting section of the print.

I have since added another puzzle also cut in 1960 which features similarly shaped pieces, again in a rather bland part of the image. This is her puzzle Autumn in Arizona

The painting is a very famous one by the French impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The puzzle was cut by Dolly McDougall in 1960.
