Mother of Parliament

The artwork for this 400 piece library puzzles is believed to have been from a magazine centrepiece, evidenced by the vertical cutting down the centre of the puzzle to try and disguise the fold line. The painting is by Max Hofler, another example showing up in this Victory Popular Series puzzle.
Here the cutter, Dolly McDougall, has created a very challenging puzzle indeed, with widespread use of the line-cutting principle. It is dated 1954 on the library card.
