Impudent Hussies

Originally issued as a print in the 1902 Pears annual, this 543 piece plywood jigsaw puzzle carries jigsaw puzzle lending library information dating from 1924 and from an address in Bath. The list of hiring dates is accompanied by a handwritten note dated 26th May '24 to Miss Harry, whose name appears as the last hirer on 20th May of the same year, advising her of Rule 6 of the jigsaw club! I would love to know what it was, as the puzzle is still in absolutely stunning condition to this day.
Cutting is generally semi-interlocking in style and of an exceptional standard, featuring colour line-cutting particularly around the main characters in the painting by the British artist Mary Groves.
