French Line, The

This third example I have been made aware of is this magnificent 865 piece plywood puzzle, which utilises a painting originally forming a promotional poster from the French Line-C.G.T. (See fourth image).
The painting is attributed to K. Herkomer and features the ship SS Paris, built in France for Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, between 1913 and 1921 (delayed due to WWI), commissioned in 1935 and sadly destroyed by fire in 1939.:Source Wikipedia.. The background to the painting is an almost ethereal study of some of the most recognisable landmarks of the Paris skyline.
Sadly missing some of the 865 original pieces, this puzzle still represents a superb example of cutting from a beautiful image of the era.
Many thanks to Barbara Tapp for so kindly supplying me with the images and details of it.
