Lobinger, Paul

In the latter part of 2011, a collection of puzzles was brought to my attention which were evidently all cut as a hobby, often to be given as family gifts, by the late Paul Lobinger (1901-1982).
These were apparently all made in an unheated room in Austria and were cut in a rich variety of styles, mostly semi-interlocking, and using photographic as well as artistic material as subjects. They usually also included numerous Whimsies, or figural shaped pieces.
This album acts as a wonderful reminder of the skills exhibited by some private cutters!
Many thanks to Stefan Kelemer for allowing the display of these puzzles and for the information he has kindly supplied.
