Untitled-Battleships

A 72-piece interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle retailed through Marks and Spencer, but thought likely to have been cut by Victory. The painting is signed by the artist R. Granger Barrett, a name associated with several, predominantly transport themed, posters in the 1930s. See the examples shown for the GWR Brixham poster and the colourful "Buy British" poster, understood to have been issued by the Empire Marketing Board. His name is also associated with numerous postage stamp designs from the 1970-1980s, most notably for Jersey.
