Famous Castles

A colourful series of some sixteen or more 400+ piece interlocking cardboard jigsaw puzzles featuring artistic interpretations of some of the UK's best-known castles. Artists including Percy Padden, William McDowell and A.E. Vincent were responsible for the excellent artwork, with many examples also containing information flyers relating to that castle's history, along with details of the artist and a list of the other titles available. Boxes featured relevant national symbols on the lower edge below the guide image or on the box-side, featuring emblems including the Scottish coat of arms, Tudor Rose and Welsh Dragon or daffodil. The series is believed to have originated in the mid-late 1940's.
