Christmas Eve

Large example of solid wooden push-fit jigsaw puzzle, thought to have been cut by William Peacock & Sons, but for the Puzzla brand and then retailed through the London store Benetfink & Co Ltd., of Cheapside, with a label price of 14/6. The box base reveals an earliest completion date of 1911, although it appears that Benetfink & Co were taken over by Gamage's in 1907.
The painting is by the British artist Norah Drummond (1862-1949), whose work was very popular with many of the jigsaw puzzle manufacturers of the era.
