Robin, The

This intricately cut plywood jigsaw puzzle has so much going on within, much of it in keeping with the beautiful Terance James Bond painting. Cut by Simon Stocken, the puzzle incorporates a rich variety of cutting styles with much use of familiarly complex colour line-separation. Whimsies, or figural shapes are equally abundant, several being of a composite nature, themselves cut into many pieces. The large leaf-shaped section, cleverly located to appear as being attached to a branch, is one such shape and is itself then surrounded by quite uniformly-shaped multi-interlocking pieces. The composite Star round a Star and a thirteen piece Christmas tree, complete with angel, add further detail to this fine piece.
