13102. Golden Arrow

A depiction of the 22p stamp designed by Terence Cuneo and featuring the Golden Arrow train. This ran between 1928 to 1972 from London Victoria to the channel ferry terminal at Dover and continued as the 'Flêche d'Or' from Calais to Paris Nord. Today the Eurostar service runs from London St Pancras through the Channel Tunnel to Paris Nord. The 'Golden Arrow' name is now used by the Bluebell Heritage Railway in Sussex for one of its luxury trains.

The number of the locomotive (no 34065, Hurricane) is just visible. It was built in 197 and remained in service until 1964.
