Zig-Zag Puzzle Company, The

Based at a variety of addresses in Haymarket, LONDON S.W. the Zig-Zag Company were one of the main producers at the turn of the century producing a large range of high quality puzzles, often on solid Mahogany boards and introducing whimsies to add interest to the puzzles.
Some early examples show addresses of: 8 Norris Street, London SW, and Carlton Street, London SW. These are thought to date from c1910-1915. Not all of these earlier puzzles showed addresses on their boxes, so dating of these is tricky. A 1915 price list showing an address of: 32, Orange Street, Haymarket SW. and a later, Grant Richards Limited Zig-Zag leaflet with the same address seem to imply a lengthy time at this Haymarket location.
The Zig-Zag brand was also used to promote the later RACO (Richards Art Co.) branded puzzles.
