Par Puzzles

The top-class American brand of Par Puzzles, established in 1932 by John Henriques and Frank Ware, still remains faithful to its origins even in today's demanding marketplace, manufacturing one-off and custom wooden puzzles using traditional methods and the finest quality materials. Their figural shapes remain amongst the finest ever seen, with the seahorse shape still being used as the signature piece and box-logo for the company. A Par time, or time considered feasible to complete assembly, was an exciting new idea to add interest and must represent a source of either great achievement or conversely, of despair amongst their owners/assemblers. No two Par Puzzles are ever the same, with the company priding itself on the originality and bespoke nature of their production. This can be seen in the incredibly diverse nature of both the artwork used and the designs of the puzzles themselves. Their puzzles, new and old, rank amongst the most highly-prized possessions of collectors around the World.
Special thanks to Robin Rudd for furnishing me with details of several Par Puzzles in order to launch this album. More please!
